Pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 at Irthlingborough Nursery and Infant School have been learning about plants and animals. The children worked with artist Abbie Canning to create their own stop motion animations about the topic from their drawings and Plasticine models.
Pupils also learnt about Augmented Reality, transforming colourful images of their work to reveal their animations using the Artivive app. Children took postcards of their images home to share the Augmented Reality experience with others using smart phones and tablet devices, with four large images left with the school for a dynamic display.
“The children have all been talking about it and it’s one of the best things they’ve done all year! Will you come back next year?”
– Miss Lees (Key Stage One Lead)“It was art and computing!”
– Mrs Marshall (Head Teacher)
To view the animations the children created download the free Artivive app from the Google Play or Apple Store. Use the app to scan the pictures below to reveal the animations!
