Board Recruitment

Fermynwoods is seeking to broaden the skills base of its Board of Trustees, a small group which works closely with staff to support and further the organisation’s artistic and educational mission.

We’re seeking expressions of interest from those with backgrounds or experience in financial management, fundraising, business development, and diversity and inclusion. We are also keen to hear from artists, young people, or those enthusiastic about our organisation with the energy and capacity to make a positive contribution.

Fermynwoods Contemporary Art is an arts organisation and educational charity of national reputation, with bases in Fermyn Woods and Fineshade Wood. We commission innovative and meaningful ways for visual artists to engage with audiences, in public spaces across Northamptonshire and online.

“Fermynwoods quite clearly delivers excellent arts programmes.”

Ed Vaizey
Former Minister for Culture and the Digital Economy

“Fermynwoods is a fantastic organisation that genuinely connects with and inspires different communities, not least through its work with young people.”

Fermynwoods’ Board of Trustees primarily ensures that the organisation operates in accordance with our charitable objects:

  1. To promote, assist and improve the arts for the public benefit.
  2. Encourage and advance the education of the public by increasing access to the
arts and in particular, but not exclusively, the visual arts.

The Board help set the strategic direction of the organisation, with Trustees’ particular skills supporting development in these areas.

Board members typically serve a minimum two-year term and generally give their time approximately 1 day per month, usually at our office in Thrapston, Northants, in addition to offering other support as appropriate.

Trustees are non-salaried but out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed.

To apply, please send an expression of interest to Rhona Rowland (Chair) detailing what you feel you have to offer the organisation, what you would hope to gain from joining us, plus any relevant past experience. Or just get in touch for an informal chat to answer any questions you may have:
