Recipe for the Future (Recipe book)
Recipes for the Future is a small collection of culinary experiments in the form of recipes developed by artist Chiara Dellerba, coproduced with pupils from schools across Northamptonshire, commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art and funded by Northamptonshire Community Foundation’s Creative Climate Action Fund. All the recipes in the booklet are made with leftovers from vegetables and other discarded food with the aim to rethink our relationship with food, preservation and adaptation in the time of climate breakdown.
Climate Action Super Super Heroes (Conversational cards)
Climate Action Super Super Heroes is a collection of 18 conversational cards designed to spark reflection and action on tackling climate breakdown. Developed by artist Chiara Dellerba in collaboration with children from schools across Northamptonshire, these cards feature questions inspired by the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals. Each card showcases a unique illustration representing one of six characters: The Veggie Vindicator, The Water Wizard, The Truth Talker, The Energy Expert, The Green Guide, and the Recycle Ranger.
Children participated in workshops where they chose a character to embody, engaging in creative exercises like writing, collage, and visual compositions to explore the characteristics and superpowers of their chosen hero. The 18 questions on the cards emerged from conversations, notes, and mapping collected during these workshops. These questions aim to gently prompt reflection on both large and small scales, encouraging new perspectives on climate breakdown and fostering actionable steps for everyday life.
