Subterra’s Marie-Chantal Hamrock joins artist David John Scarborough for a live walkthrough of Earth-Stepper – an online digital installation by David John Scarborough unfolding as a contemporary folk fable across virtual landscapes, story and song.
Presented through videoworks, soundtracks and an interactive virtual world for participants to explore, Earth-Stepper brings together personal loss and climate renewal in a work that approaches digital space not as escapism, but as a site of lament and reconnection in which to imagine an inclusive, alternative British folk tradition.
David John Scarborough is a British-Australian artist, curator and a co-founder of Modern Painters, New Decorators. He creates projects to think through his relationships with materials and places by considering personal history or public heritage. He makes exhibitions, books, videos and music.
