Open Online One was a yearlong presentation of work from an international array of artists from November 2010 to November 2011, responding to new possibilities opened up by the Internet in a creative way, particularly in terms of finding new ways of thinking, making, engaging and interacting with art.
Leaf Song is an alternative guidebook to the trees plus audio CD containing leaf songs and leaf sounds, made by Vidha Saumya and Rebecca Lee, artists in residence at Sudborough Green Lodge in 2010.
From March to September 2010 the rhythms of Fermyn Woods Country Park were made audible thanks to Andrew Stonyer’s Audio Kinetic Solar Sculpture. The rise and fall of the sun presented sonically, with the added variation of the fluctuations in sunlight through cloud cover or the leaves of the Elder trees.
In 2010 Fermynwoods commissioned Tree, a new work by Dutch artist Simon Heijdens. A full-scale image of a tree, drawn by a combination of intricate computer programming and the surrounding environmental conditions, projected onto the Corby Cube from dusk each evening.
Intervention (Projected) was a series of Tim Simmons’ stunning photographs of landscapes from around the world, projected at night in a slow and meditative loop, on a 20ft screen erected in Fermyn Woods during 2010.
